Squid Game: The Challenge Video Shows Series Creator Visiting Game Show Set

A new Squid Game: The Challenge video is out from Netflix, with the creator of the original series visiting the set of the upcoming game show.

In the new video, series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk and star Anupam Tripathi (who played Ali Abdul in the series) taking a tour of the various sets of the game show. In the brief video, both are surprised at the level of detail to the set.

The video also showcases some of the games set to be in the show, including a large-scale variation of Battleship.

What is Squid Game: The Challenge about?

“456 real players will enter the competition show in pursuit of a life-changing reward of USD $4.56 million,” reads the synopsis. “As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show – plus surprising new additions – their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them.

Squid Game: The Challenge is executive produced by Nicola Brown, Tim Harcourt, John Hay, Toni Ireland, Anna Kidd, and Stephen Lambert. It hails from Studio Lambert (The Circle) and The Garden (24 Hours in A&E), part of ITV Studios. Filming for Season 1 took place in the UK last January.
