AJ Lee & CM Punk Spar in Heels Season 2 Clip

AJ Mendez, known for her run in WWE as AJ Lee, spars with CM Punk in a new clip from Heels Season 2. In the upcoming installment of the Starz wrestling drama, Mendez joins the cast as Elle Dorado. Punk, who previously recurred in Heels Season 1 as Ricky Rabies, will be reprising his role.

In the new video from Heels Season 2, which premieres July 28, Elle and Ricky do a bit of practicing in the ring. This allows Elle to bust out some very familiar moves, including Mendez’s signature Black Widow finisher.

What To Know About Heels Season 2

“Season two begins after a spectacular showing at the South Georgia State Fair, and the Duffy Wrestling League’s popularity is suddenly on the upswing,” per the logline. “Hoping to seize the opportunity, Jack and his cohorts prepare for a possible business deal with a new streaming service that may propel them onto a national stage. But the past and its tragedies threaten to upset everything when Ace leaves Duffy and the Dome in his rearview, meanwhile rival promotion Florida Wrestling Dystopia’s vengeful frontman Gully comes calling.”

The cast includes Stephen Amell, Alexander Ludwig, Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund, Allen Maldonado, two-time Super Bowl champion James Harrison, Mike O’Malley, Trey Tucker, Robby Ramos, Alice Barrett Mitchell, Roxton Garcia, and David James Elliott.

Along with Punk and Mendez, who have been married since 2014, guest actors include Josh Segarra (The Other Two) and Emmy Raver-Lampman (The Umbrella Academy).

Heels is created by Michael Waldron, with Mike O’Malley serving as showrunner.
