Interview with a Vampire Trailer Previews AMC’s Supernatural Drama

AMC Studios has unveiled the full Interview with a Vampire trailer for its upcoming series adaptation of Anne Rice’s classic supernatural gothic novel of the same name. It is scheduled to make its debut on October 2 on AMC and AMC+.

The video highlights Louis’ complicated relationship with the charismatic Lestat, the vampire who seduced Louis towards the darkness in an attempt to make him his immortal companion. It teases Louis’ struggle with killing humans as well as the arrival of Claudia into their lives.

Interview With the Vampire is an eight-episode series written and executive produced by Emmy nominee Rolin Jones, who also serves as the showrunner. It stars Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Bailey Bass, Eric Bogosian, Assad Zaman, Christian Robinson, Kalyne Coleman, and Maura Grace Athari.

“The series follows Louis de Pointe du Lac, Lestat de Lioncourt, and Claudia’s epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy,” reads the synopsis. “Chafing at the limitations of life as a black man in 1900s New Orleans, Louis finds it impossible to resist the rakish Lestat’s offer of the ultimate escape: joining him as his vampire companion. But Louis’s intoxicating new powers come with a violent price, and the introduction of Lestat’s newest fledgling, the child vampire Claudia, soon sets them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement.”

The series is executive produced by Oscar winner Mark Johnson and Christopher Rice. The project is part of both Jones and Johnson’s overall deals with AMC Studios.

The first The Interview with the Vampire adaptation resulted in the Neil Jordan-directed eponymous movie. Rice worked on the screenplay of the 1994 Oscar-nominated film. It starred Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Kirsten Dunst, as well as Christian Slater and Antonio Banderas.
