Prehistoric Planet Trailer Teases Apple TV+’s Dinosaur Documentary Event

Apple TV+ has released the official Prehistoric Planet trailer for its upcoming epic national history event series, which will be narrated by Sir David Attenborough. The five-night documentary event is scheduled to premiere starting on Monday, May 23 through Friday, May 27.

The video, which you can check out below, teases a never-before-seen look at the world’s most extraordinary creatures. It gives us a glimpse of the documentary’s incredibly detailed and realistic designs of dinosaurs including Velociraptors, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and more.

Prehistoric Planet is a groundbreaking series that will transport viewers 66 million years in the past to discover our world – and the dinosaurs that roamed it – all in stunning detail and set to an original score by multiple Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer.

“It combines award-winning wildlife filmmaking, the latest paleontology learnings, and state-of-the-art technology to unveil the spectacular habitats and inhabitants of ancient Earth for a one-of-a-kind immersive experience,” reads the synopsis. “The documentary presents little-known and surprising facts of dinosaur life set against the backdrop of the environments of Cretaceous times, including coasts, deserts, freshwater, ice worlds, and forests. From revealing eye-opening parenting techniques of Tyrannosaurus rex to exploring the mysterious depths of the oceans and the deadly dangers in the sky, Prehistoric Planet brings Earth’s history to life like never before.”

The docuseries is executive produced by Jon Favreau and Mike Gunton. It is a production by BBC Studios Natural History Unit, the team behind the acclaimed Planet Earth documentary.
