Joe vs Carole Teaser Previews Peacock’s Tiger King Miniseries

Peacock has dropped the first teaser for the upcoming limited series titled Joe vs Carole, centering around the rivalry between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin which was first made famous by Netflix’s popular Tiger King docuseries. The series will be available for streaming on Thursday, March 3.

The video, which you can check out below, provides us with our first look at John Cameron Mitchell and Kate McKinnon’s respective transformations into Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin. It promises to tell more of the controversial story than what was previously shown.

Joe vs Carole is based on the Wondery podcast “Joe Exotic,” which was hosted and reported by Robert Moor. It stars John Cameron Mitchell, Kate McKinnon, Kyle MacLachlan, Brian Van Holt, Sam Keeley, Nat Wolf, Marlo Kelly, William Fichtner, Dean Winters, David Wenham.

“The limited series will center on Carole Baskin, a big cat enthusiast, who learns that fellow exotic animal lover Joe ‘Exotic’ Schreibvogel is breeding and using his big cats for profit,” reads the logline. “She sets out to shut down his venture, inciting a quickly escalating rivalry. But Carole has a checkered past of her own and when the claws come out, Joe will stop at nothing to expose what he sees as her hypocrisy. The results prove dangerous.”

Joe vs. Carole is written and executive produced by Etan Frankel as part of his overall deal with UCP. Executive producers are McKinnon, Alex Katsnelson, Hernan Lopez, Marshall Lewy, Aaron Hart, and Justin Tipping, who is also serving as a director along with Natalie Bailey.
