Netflix’s Money Heist Korean Remake Teaser Unveils Official Title and Cast

It has been over a month since the explosive series finale of La Casa de Papel, and now Netflix has dropped the first teaser for the upcoming South Korean remake of the hit action-thriller series, confirming its official title as Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area. It is scheduled to make its debut sometime this year.

The video provides us with our first look at the main cast led by Yoo Ji-tae as he portrays the gang’s genius mastermind The Professor. It also teases the Korean remake’s signature mask as they might potentially stray away from using the original series’ iconic Salvador Dali mask.

Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area stars Yoo Ji-tae (Oldboy) as the Professor, Kim Yunjin (Lost) as Crisis Negotiation team leader Seon Woojin, Park Hae-soo (Squid Game) as Berlin, Jun Jong-seo (Burning) as Tokyo, Lee Won-jong (Dear My Friends) as Moscow, Kim Ji-hun (Flower of Evil) as Denver, Jang Yoon-ju (Three Sisters) as Nairobi, Lee Hyun-woo (Moorim School) as Rio, Kim Ji-hoon as Helsinki, Lee Kyu-ho as Oslo, and more.

“The series narrates a genius strategist and his talented crew – composed of top-class thieves – attempting to pull off an unprecedented heist in the Korean Peninsula,” reads the synopsis. “The story portrays unexpected twists and turns as the crew stage a hostage while facing inexplicable challenges. All eyes are focused on the background and definition behind the title Joint Economic Area.”

Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area is directed by Kim Hong-sun from a screenplay written by Ryu Yong-jae, Kim Hwan-chae and Choe Sung-jun. It is a production by BH Entertainment and Zium Content.
