The Flash: Armageddon Trailer Teases 5-Part Crossover Event for Season 8

The CW has released the official trailer for the upcoming eighth season of the Grant Gustin-led DC series The Flash, teasing the premiere’s five-part crossover special event titled Armageddon. The series is slated to make its return on November 16.

The Flash: Armageddon trailer, which you can check out below, highlights the arrival of a new powerful alien threat in the form of Tony Curran’s Despero, who’s dead set on ending the scarlet speedster’s existence as well as the destruction of the world. It also provided us with our first look at the return of some familiar Arrowverse heroes including Brandon Routh’s The Atom and Cress Williams’ Black Lightning as Barry enlist their help in saving the world.

The Flash series currently stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton, and Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West.

The official synopsis for the five-part special event reads: “A powerful alien threat arrives on Earth under mysterious circumstances and Barry, Iris, and the rest of Team Flash are pushed to their limits in a desperate battle to save the world. But with time running out, and the fate of humanity at stake, Flash and his companions will also need to enlist the help of some old friends if the forces of good are to prevail.”

Brandon Routh, Cress Williams, Kat McNamara, and Osric Chau are officially returning to the Arrowverse and will respectively reprise their roles a The Atom, Black Lightning, Mia Queen, and Ryan Choi. Joining them are Supergirl star Chyler Leigh as Sentinel, and Batwoman star Javicia Leslie as the Ryan Wilder/the scarlet knight, which marks her first interaction with other Arrowverse heroes since joining the series in 2021. It will also feature the return of villains Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash, and Damien Darhk, respectively portrayed by Tom Cavanagh, and Neal McDonough.
