Hulu’s Dopesick Trailer Highlights America’s Worst Drug Epidemic

Hulu has released the full Dopesick trailer for the upcoming limited series, which hails from Danny Strong and Barry Levinson. The series is scheduled to make its debut on Wednesday, October 13.

The video, which you can check out in the player below along with the poster, features Michael Keaton, Rosario Dawson, and Peter Sarsgaard’s characters as they try to fight against a major pharmaceutical company’s greed and deception, that cost the lives of so many hard-working people who fell to the trap of their so-called “miracle drug.”

Inspired by Beth Macy’s New York Times bestselling book, Dopesick is described as an ambitious, harrowing, and compelling drama that examines how one company triggered the worst drug epidemic in American history. The 8-episode limited series stars Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard, Rosario Dawson, Michael Stuhlbarg, Will Poulter, John Hoogenakker,  Kaitlyn Dever, Phillipa Soo, and Jake McDorman.

“The series takes viewers to the epicenter of America’s struggle with opioid addiction, from the boardrooms of Big Pharma to a distressed Virginia mining community to the hallways of the DEA,” reads the official synopsis, “Defying all the odds, heroes will emerge in an intense and thrilling ride to take down the craven corporate forces behind this national crisis and their allies.”

Dopesick is written by Danny Strong and directed by Barry Levinson. It is executive produced by Keaton, Strong, Levinson, John Goldwyn, Warren Littlefield, Beth Macy, and Karen Rosenfelt. The series is a production of FOX 21 Television Studios.
