Old Habits Die Hard in Showtime’s Dexter: New Blood Trailer 

Showtime has finally released the full Dexter: New Blood trailer for the upcoming revival of the acclaimed crime drama, featuring the return of Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter. The series is scheduled to make its debut on November 7.

The video, which you can check out below, highlights Dexter’s new identity as Jim Lindsay, who has built a new life for himself following the events of the original series finale. However, this seemingly normal life will soon get disrupted when the town gets struck by a murderer that will ignite the monster in him. It also gives us a preview of Carpenter’s new role as the Dark Passenger and the return of Dexter’s son Harrison.

Set 10 years after Dexter went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laure, Dexter: New Blood finds living under an assumed name in the fictional small town of Iron Lake, New York. Dexter may be embracing his new life, but in the wake of unexpected events in this close-knit community, his Dark Passenger inevitably beckons.

The revival will once again be led by Michael C. Hall along with returning alum Jennifer Carpenter. Joining them are a whole new including Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Michael Cyril Creighton, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah, Jack Alcott, Jamie Chung, and Oscar Wahlberg. It will also feature the return of John Lithgow as the Trinity Killer.

Dexter: New Blood is 10-episode limited series is executive produced by returning showrunner Clyde Phillips, with Marcos Siega set to direct six episodes. Executive producers are Hall, Siega, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Bill Carraro, and Scott Reynolds.

The original series ran on-air for eight seasons from 2006-2013. During its original run, it earned multiple Golden Globe and Emmy nominations as well as a Peabody Award, with Hall taking home a Golden Globe in 2010 for his leading performance.
