Money Heist Season 5 Vol. 1 Trailer: Surrender is Not an Option

Netflix has finally released the official trailer for the upcoming fifth and final installment of their hit global series Money Heist, which is scheduled to make its return this September 3 with Season 5 Volume 1.

The video, which you can check out below, highlights the team’s efforts to fight off the military as they try to survive without the guidance of the Professor, who has been held captive by the ruthless Alicia. Because of this, Lisbon has now become the de facto leader of the team who encourages them to fight for their lives. In addition to its action-packed sequences, the video also gives us a preview of some of the flashbacks we should expect to see in the first half of the final season involving Berlin and Tokyo’s past.

Money Heist, or La casa de papel, centers around a group of thieves led by The Professor, who wears a Salvador Dali mask and a red jumpsuit and takes on names of different cities in order to conceal their identities. In Season 5, the gang has been shut in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours. They have managed to rescue Lisbon, but their darkest moment is upon them after losing one of their own. The Professor has been captured by Sierra and, for the first time, doesn’t have an escape plan. Just when it seems like nothing else could go wrong, an enemy comes on the scene that is much more powerful than any they’ve faced: the army. The end of the greatest heist in history is approaching, and what began as a robbery will turn into a war.

The series stars Álvaro Morte, Úrsula Corberó, Itziar Ituño, Pedro Alonso, Alba Flores, Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Esther Acebo, Darko Perić, and Paco Tous. It also features Hovik Keuchkerian, Rodrigo de la Serna, Najwa Nimri, Luka Peros, Belen Cuesta, Fernando Cayo, and Enrique Arce. Season 5 will also introduced new cast members including Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Patrick Criado.
