Disney+ has released the official Turner & Hooch reboot trailer for their upcoming series adaptation of Tom Hanks’ 1989 buddy cop comedy pic of the same name, starring Drake & Josh alum Josh Peck. The video features a young workaholic U.S. marshal who unexpectedly inherits a French Mastiff named Hooch from his late father. It also highlights Hooch’s fun and chaotic antics that will drive his new owner nuts, especially when it will somehow disrupt all of Scott’s cases. However, just like his father, Hooch might just be the partner he needs all along. The series is slated to debut on Wednesday, July 21.

When an ambitious, buttoned-up US Marshal inherits a big unruly dog, he soon realizes the dog he didn’t want may be the partner he needs. Turner & Hooch stars Josh Peck as Scott Turner Jr., the son of Tom Hanks’s character from the original film (order your copy here). Joining him as the titular lead are Five French Mastiffs, who are all portraying the role of Scott’s slobbery and loveable new dog Hooch, who is also named after his father’s original Mastiff.

The series also stars Carra Patterson as Jessica Baxter, Scott’s brave, street-smart partner; Brandon Jay McLaren (Graceland) as Xavier Wilson, a cool, enigmatic marine-turned-US Marshal; Anthony Ruivivar (Third Watch) as Chief James Mendez, Scott’s boss with a secret soft spot for Scott’s new dog, Hooch; Lyndsy Fonseca (Kick-Ass) as Laura Turner, Scott’s sweet, animal-loving sister; Jeremy Maguire (Modern Family) as Matthew Garland, Laura’s dog-loving son; and Vanessa Lengies (Glee) as Erica Mouniere, the quirky head of the US Marshals dog training program. It will also feature Becca Tobin (Glee) and Reginald VelJohnson (Die Hard) for the recurring roles of Brooke and Mayor David Sutton.

The Turner & Hooch reboot is written, created and executive produced by Matt Nix. Executive producers are Michael Horowitz, Robert Duncan McNeill, Mary Viola, Josh Levy, and McG, who also directed the first episode.
