New Dexter Revival Teaser Introduces the Friendly Mr. Jim Lindsay

Showtime has released another teaser for their upcoming Dexter revival, featuring a new look at Michael C. Hall’s return as the titular serial killer, who has now assumed a new identity as Jim Lindsay. The video teases how Dexter has adjusted well to his new life while highlighting that everyone in town is friends with him, including high school students. However, toward the end of the clip, it also teases that fans should expect that the character still has his dark side within him. The limited series is scheduled to make its debut this coming fall, with 10 new episodes.

The Dexter revival will be set 10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura. It continues to follow the character, who is now living under an assumed name in a world away from Miami. Joining Michael C. Hall are a whole new cast including Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Michael Cyril Creighton, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah, Jack Alcott, Jamie Chung, and Oscar Wahlberg.

The upcoming limited series will be executive produced by returning showrunner Clyde Phillips, with Marcos Siega set to direct six episodes. Executive producers are Hall, Siega, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Bill Carraro, and Scott Reynolds.

The original series ran on-air for eight seasons from 2006-2013. It starred Michael C. Hall Dexter Morgan, a serial killer who specifically targeted other serial killers while also working as a blood splatter analyst for the Miami Police Department. During its original run, it earned multiple Golden Globe and Emmy nominations as well as a Peabody Award, with Hall taking home a Golden Globe in 2010 for his leading performance.
