Ted Lasso Season 2 teaser reveals July premiere date!
On the heels of star Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses) bringing home the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series — Comedy or Musical, Apple TV+ has debuted the first trailer for the highly-anticipated second season of feel-good comedy Ted Lasso that also reveals a July premiere date! Ted Lasso stars Sudeikis as the titular small-time college football coach from Kansas who finds himself hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer. Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster and Nick Mohammed star alongside Sudeikis in the ensemble cast who are joined in season two by I May Destroy You alum Sarah Niles.
In addition to starring, Sudeikis serves as executive producer, alongside Bill Lawrence via his Doozer Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of NBCUniversal Content. Doozer’s Jeff Ingold also serves as an executive producer with Liza Katzer as co-executive producer. The series was developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly, and is based on the pre-existing format and characters from NBC Sports.
The series first debuted in August 2020 to rave reviews from critics and audiences and garnered a number of awards nominations and wins, including sweeping at the 2021 Critics Choice Awards for Best Comedy Series, Best Actor for Sudeikis and Best Supporting Actress for Waddingham, as well as being nominated for Best Television Series — Comedy or Musical at the Golden Globes and Sudeikis’ win. The comedy’s success even sparked the streaming platform to order a third season just months after renewing it for the second.

The complete first season of Ted Lasso is currently available to stream on Apple TV+ while the second will premiere on July 23!
