I May Destroy You’s Sarah Niles Joins Ted Lasso Season 2
Sarah Niles (I May Destroy You, Rocks, Viewpoint) has officially joined the cast of the feel-good comedy series Ted Lasso for its second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Niles has boarded the new season as a series regular. She will play Sharon, a sports psychologist brought in to work with AFC Richmond. Ted Lasso is currently in production in London on the upcoming second season. Last year, the series received an early season three renewal at Apple TV+.
The second season of the Golden Globe-winning series will consist of 10 episodes and is slated to premiere on Apple TV+ sometime this year. The first season received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, currently sitting at an 86 percent “Certified Fresh” approval rating from critics on review aggregate Rotten Tomatoes.
Co-written by Jason Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence, the half-hour comedy series follows the story of Lasso (Sudeikis), who finds himself in a difficult situation when he was suddenly hired to manage an English soccer team despite not having any soccer coaching experience.
The series also stars Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Tempe, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster, and Nick Mohammed.
Sudeikis first portrayed the character in 2013 as part of NBC Sports’ promotional videos. His Ted Lasso videos had already garnered more than 10 million views since its release. Ted Lasso is executive produced by Sudeikis along with Lawrence, Jeff Ingold, and Liza Katzer through their Doozer Productions banner. Hunt also serves as producer. The comedy was developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Joe Kelly, and Hunt.
