Apple TV debuts teaser for Ghostwriter reboot
It was one of the 1990’s most celebrated yet oft-forgotten series and after announcing a reboot of the children’s mystery series earlier this year, Apple TV has debuted the first teaser for the upcoming new iteration of Ghostwriter, which can be viewed in the player below!
The original series ran on air for three season from 1992 to 1995 and was produced by Sesame Workshop (formerly known as Children’s Television Workshop). Ghostwriter was a children’s mystery series that followed the story of a group of friends who solve mysteries with the help of a ghost, who communicates with them by manipulating letters or text to formulate words and sentences.
In the Ghostwriter reboot, when a ghost haunts a neighborhood bookstore and starts releasing fictional characters into the real world, four kids must team up to solve an exciting mystery surrounding the ghost’s unfinished business. Armed with secret messages only they can see, the young heroes chase down the truth — and become friends in the process.
The reboot is written and directed by Luke Matheny. Each episode will center on different literary pieces, featuring classics and new works from popular authors including DJ Machale (Pendragon) and Kwame Alexander (The Crossover).
Ghostwriter reboot is executive produced by J.J. Johnson, Andrew Orenstein and Christin Simms with Sinking Ship Entertainment to produce and Sesame Workshop as the series’ studio.
The new series will debut alongside Apple TV+’s forthcoming shows such as Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s The Morning Show and Jason Momoa’s big scale sci-fi series See.
