EPIX’s Berlin Station adds James Cromwell for season 3

The espionage thriller Berlin Station adds James Cromwell for its third season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Emmy-winning actor will play Gilbert Dorn, a former CIA agent who’s been “put out to pasture,” so to speak. After Dorn appears on a podcast, he reveals some possibly compromising information about his past missions, which makes the present-day situation for station chief Valerie Edwards (Michelle Forbes) significantly more complicated.

The upcoming third season of Berlin Station will take place over the course of just 11 days, with Edwards stuck trying successfully navigate a tricky moment in U.S., Russia, and NATO relations.

Cromwell has a knack for playing roles that are either completely terrifying or entirely endearing. He was nominated for an Oscar for his role of Arthur Hoggett, the kindly farmer in Babe, and won an Emmy for his sobering turn as Dr. Arthur Arden in American Horror Story: Asylum. Some of his recent roles include Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, HBO’s Succession, Starz’ Counterpart, and the TBS sitcom The Detour.

Berlin Station stars Forbes, alongside Richard Armitage (The Hobbit series), Richard Jenkins (The Shape of Water), Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man), Leland Orser (Blindspotting), Ashley Judd (Twin Peaks: The Return) and Keke Palmer (Scream Queens) and Ismael Cruz Cordova (In the Blood).

The third season of Berlin Station premieres December 3 on EPIX.
