NYCC: Marvel’s Runaways Adds Jan Luis Castellanos as Topher
Jan Luis Castellanos has joined the cast of Marvel’s Runaways for the upcoming second season. This news was revealed during the show’s panel at the 2018 New York Comic Con. Fans who attended the panel had the first glimpse of the Castellanos as Topher meeting with the series’ main cast in the exclusive trailer that was shown which hasn’t yet been released online.
“I’m super grateful to be joining the Marvel/Hulu/Runaways family,” Castellanos said during his interview with Marvel.com. “It has been a dream come true. Topher is a tough and complicated kid, and it was very exciting to bring him to life. I can’t wait for you all to meet him!”
The Runaways have left their homes (and evil parents) behind and now have to learn to live on their own. As they scavenge for food, search for shelter, and take care of one another, our kids begin to realize that, for better or worse, they’re stuck with each other. And it’s up to them to take down PRIDE once and for all. But someone sent a mysterious message to Jonah… Is there a mole in the Runaways? Meanwhile, PRIDE is focused on finding their children, and Jonah has his own dangerous plan in mind.
The cast for the series includes Ariela Barer (New Girl, One Day at a Time) as Gert Yorkes, Lyrica Okano (The Affair, Unforgettable) as Nico Minoru–tough, Rhenzy Feliz (Teen Wolf, Casual) as Alex Wilder, Gregg Sulkin (Faking It, Don’t Hang Up, Anti Social) as Chase Stein, Virginia Gardner (Goat, Little Bitches) as Karolina Dean, and Allegra Acosta (100 Things to do Before High School, Just Add Magic) as Molly Hernandez. The O.C. and Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage serve as co-showrunners/writers and executive produce the series along with Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.
The second season of Marvel’s Runaways will premiere on December 21 on Hulu.
