Netflix lands Tiffany Haddish standup special for 2019

Tiffany Haddish is headed to Netflix for an original hour-long stand-up comedy special. The special is set to tape sometime in early 2019 and it will premiere on Netflix later in the year.

Lisa Nishimura, Netflix’s VP of Original Documentary and Comedy, said that “Tiffany Haddish is a force. Hilariously funny, brash and self-effacing, she’s an incredible artist who is winning over audiences while breaking barriers, and we are tremendously proud that she will showcase her formidable talent on Netflix.

Haddish has been in high demand since her breakout success in Girls Trip. The actress can currently be seen starring opposite Tracy Morgan in The Last O.G. comedy series on TBS, as well as in Kevin Hart’s upcoming comedy movie, Night School, coming out September 28, 2018. It was also recently announced that Haddish will voice the lead part in Netflix’s forthcoming animated series Tuca and Bertie.

The comedian/actor is also developing a new series with HBO called Unsubscribed, as part of her two-year deal with the premium cable network.
