Michelle Hurd has joined the cast Ash vs Evil Dead as a new series regular

The Glades star Michelle Hurd has signed on to play a new series regular when Ash vs Evil Dead returns for a second season on STARZ. According to Deadline, Hurd will play the former high school sweetheart of Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams. Michelle Hurd’s involvement follows the recent announcement that The Six Million Dollar Man himself, Lee Majors, will play Ash’s father, Brock Williams, with longtime Evil Dead franchise star Ted Raimi set to play the role of Ash’s childhood best friend, Chet Kaminski.

Ash vs Evil Dead season 2 is set for another 10 half-hour episodes. The series’ cast also includes Lucy Lawless (Salem, Spartacus) as Ruby, who now possesses the powerful Necronomicon; Ray Santiago (Touch, Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash’s loyal sidekick dealing with the trauma he suffered in the cabin; and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, who, grief-stricken after the death of her parents, plots revenge against the Evil Dead.

Sam Raimi serves as executive producer with Rob Tapert (Evil Dead, Spartacus, Xena: Warrior Princess), Bruce Campbell and Ivan Raimi (Drag Me To Hell, Spider-Man 3) along with Craig DiGregorio (Workaholics, Chuck) who serves as executive producer / showrunner. Aaron Lam (Spartacus) and Moira Grant (Spartacus) serve as producers.

Michelle Hurd’s recent credits include the direct to Blu-ray horror franchise sequel, I Spit on Your Grave: Vengeance is Mine, and the telefilm It Had to Be You. She also plays a recurring character on CBSHawaii Five-0 and appeared as a District Attorney on Marvel‘s acclaimed Netflix series, Jessica Jones.
