Acclaimed Cartoon Netflix Show To Leave HBO Max

The HBO Max library will see the departure of a prominent Cartoon Network animated series incredibly soon. Lamput, an Indian animated show, will no longer be available on the streaming service after tomorrow. The show originally aired in November 2016 and has released four seasons. Its presentation and animation style are similar to popular cartoons like Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes. Vaibhav Kumaresh created the silent series and also directed the episodes alongside Anand Babu.

Watch Lamput before it leaves HBO Max tomorrow

Cartoon Network’s Lamput Season 1 is reportedly leaving HBO Max on January 31, 2026 (via ComicBook). So subscribers only have a day to check it out before its departure. With its exit, Lamput Season 1 ends its three-year run on the streamer, having been added along with the two subsequent seasons on April 28, 2022.

The series’s story follows the eponymous protagonist, a gooey orange creature that escapes Specs and Skinny’s laboratory. The two try to catch Lamput, but frequently fail in their attempts as he proves to be a cunning and troublesome opponent with his shapeshifting abilities.

Season 1 of Lamput, which consists of 46 episodes, aired between November 30, 2016, and 4 December, 2016. Meanwhile, Season 2, which premiered two years later and has only 21 episodes, aired between January 9, 2018, and 28 October, 2018.

Season 3 arrived two years later and aired 43 episodes between February 23, 2020, and August 3, 2021.

Lamput Season 4, expected to have 42 episodes in total, started airing on June 25, 2022. However, only 37 episodes have been released so far.

The runtimes for each of the season’s episodes vary. Season 1’s episodes are extremely short, clocking in at just 15 seconds. Meanwhile, Season 2 bumped up the runtime to 2 minutes. Season 3 switched things up further by increasing the length to 2-5 minutes while also including 7-minute special episodes. Season 4 took things to another level by incorporating 11-minute episodes.

Lamput has bagged multiple awards and award nominations. These include the Asian Academy Creative Awards for Best Children’s Programme, Best Children’s Animated Programme or Series, and Best Short Form Content, the International Emmy Kids Awards, and ContentAsia Awards for Best Kids TV Programme.
