A new Netflix show starring Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson is now available to stream.
Bernthal is known for playing the Punisher in the MCU. He won’t be reprising that role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2; however, he is part of the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which arrives in July, while a Punisher TV special is also in development.
Thompson, meanwhile, plays Valkyrie in the MCU, while she also recently starred in and produced Nia DaCosta’s Hedda, which is now streaming on Prime Video.
What Jon Bernthal show is now on Netflix?
Fans of Bernthal and Thompson can watch their new Netflix show, titled His & Hers, as it is now available to watch on the streaming platform.
The synopsis for the show reads, “In the sweltering heat of Atlanta, Anna (Thompson) lives in haunted reclusion, fading away from her friends and career as a news anchor. But when she overhears talk about a murder in Dahlonega — the sleepy north Georgia town where she grew up — Anna is snapped back to life, pouncing on the case and searching for answers. Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal) is strangely suspicious of her involvement, chasing her into the crosshairs of his own investigation.”
In addition to Thompson and Bernthal, the cast includes Pablo Schreiber as Richard, Crystal Fox as Alice, Sunita Mani as Priya, Rebecca Rittenhouse as Lexy, Marin Ireland as Zoe, Ellie Rose Sawyer as Meg, Chris Bauer as Clyde, and more.
Based on Alice Feeney’s 2020 novel of the same name, His & Hers comes from showrunner Dee Johnson. William Oldroyd directs the first episode.
Thompson, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, told Tudum, “I am beyond elated to be collaborating with a filmmaker [Oldroyd] I have long admired and an incredible team to make a fresh offering in a genre that I can never get enough of. From the second I heard what Will was imagining doing with Alice Feeney’s brilliant book to the moment I visited the town where our story is set, I was hooked.”
