Steve Carrell Joins Netflix’s Four Seasons Cast Opposite Tina Fey

Steve Carell is joining The Four Seasons, starring alongside Tina Fey in the upcoming Netflix series.

The show is based on the 1981 movie of the same name, which starred Alan Alda, Carol Burnett, and Rita Moreno, and told the story of an unexpected development in a close-knit group of friends and how that group comes to handle that development. The series was first announced in January and will begin production later this year.

Carrell is known for his role as Michael Scott in the NBC comedy The Office. He’s also had roles on television shows such as The Morning Show, The Patient, and Space Force. He is an eleven-time Emmy nominee, with his most recent nod coming in 2020 for The Morning Show.

Carrell is also an Oscar nominee, receiving a nomination for his role in Foxcatcher. His other film credits include The 40-Year-Old Virgin, The Big Short, and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. Carrell also previously starred alongside Fey in the action comedy Date Night. His next projects include If, an animated family movie directed by John Krasinski.

Who is the team behind The Four Seasons?

Fey is the co-creator alongside Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield. The series, produced by Universal Television, is executive produced by Fey, Fisher, Wigfield, David Miner, Eric Gurian, and Jeff Richmond. Alan Alda and Marissa Bregman are producers on the project. Fey, Fisher, and Wigfield also write the series. Universal Television is the producing studio. Little Stranger, Inc. is the production company.

The Four Seasons marks the latest collaboration between Fey, Netflix, and Universal Television. That includes the Emmy-nominated hit Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which ran for four seasons and included an interactive movie. More recently, Girls5eva Season 3 continued that collaboration.

Fisher co-created Never Have I Ever, which ran for four seasons on Netflix. Wigfield created the critically acclaimed series Great News and Saved by the Bell.
