Star Wars: The Acolyte Release Date Window Revealed

According to Collider, Lucasfilm is currently eyeing a summer 2024 release date for its upcoming Disney+ series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which takes place more than 100 years before the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Production on the Amandla Stenberg-led epic sci-fi drama officially wrapped last June prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Who’s the cast of The Acolyte?

Star Wars: The Acolyte is written and executive produced by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), who will also be serving as the showrunner. Joining Stenberg are Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Jodie Turner-Smith (After Yang), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), and Star Wars sequel trilogy alum Joonas Suotama as a new character in the form of a Wookiee Jedi master.

The Acolyte is described as a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers that will be set within the final days of the High Republic era. In addition to The Acolyte, Lucasfilm is also working on other Star Wars projects, including shows like Skeleton Crew, Andor Season 2 and Ahsoka Season 2
