Spider-Man Freshman Year Release Date

Spider-Man: Freshman Year Gets New Title Before 2024 Disney+ Debut

Ahead of its 2024 debut, Marvel Studios’ highly-anticipated animated Spider-Man series has received a brand new title.

Originally called as Spider-Man: Freshman Year, the Disney+ series has now been officially titled Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which will be set in an alternate MCU timeline. Besides the Spider-Man series, the studio will also be releasing two more animated shows on Disney+ in 2024, including the X-Men 97′ revival and the Black Panther-centered series titled Eyes of Wakanda.

Who’s in Marvel Studios’ Animated Spider-Man Series?

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man voice cast includes Hudson Thames as Peter Parker, Eugene Byrd as Lonnie Lincoln, Grace Song as Nico Minoru, Hugh Dancy as Otto Octavius, Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May, and Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn. This won’t be the first time that Thames will be voicing the titular hero in a Marvel Studios project, as he previously voiced the character in an episode of What If…?

During the Marvel Animation panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that Charlie Cox will be reprising his role as Matthew Murdock/ Daredevil in Disney+’s upcoming Spider-Man: Freshman Year series. Besides Daredevil, it will also introduce other Marvel characters such as Amadeus Cho, Rhino, Scorpion, Speed Demon, and Tarantula.

The animated show is written and executive produced by Jeff Trammel. It follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man, with a journey unlike any we’ve seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots. It is said to take place before the events of Captain America: Civil War.
