Netflix unveiled a brand new adult animated limited series on Thursday in the form of Carol & The End of the World.
The new series hails from former Community and Rick and Morty writer Dan Guterman, who created the show. Carol & The End of the World will star Martha Kelly (Euphoria, Baskets) as the titular character Carol.
The new show will arrive on the streaming platform on December 15, 2023 and runs for ten 30-minute episodes.
The rest of the cast for the series includes Beth Grant (No Country For Old Men), Lawrence Pressman (Modern Family), Kimberly Hébert Gregory (Craig of the Greek), Mel Rodriguez (Last Man On Earth), Bridget Everett (Somebody Somewhere), Michael Chernus (Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Delbert Hunt (Monster High).
Carole & The End of the World is “a love letter to nature”
“Carol & The End Of The World is a love letter to routine,” said Guterman in a statement on the series’ announcement. “A show about the comforts of monotony. An animated and existential comedy about the daily rituals that make up the gaps that make up a life.”
“With a mysterious planet hurtling towards Earth, extinction is imminent for the people of the world. While most feel liberated to pursue their wildest dreams, one quiet and always uncomfortable woman stands alone — lost among the hedonistic masses,” reads the official synopsis for the series.
