Actress Taryn Manning — best known for her role in the hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black — has apologized after a video of her ranting about an affair went viral.
Manning’s viral video had fans concerned for the actress
The video — which Manning shared to social media this week — saw the actress discussing a relationship she was in with a married man. In the since-deleted clip, Manning laments the relationship, and details their sexual encounters — as well as an issue that the actress had with the man’s wife.
“Every night, well, for about three nights in a row…I was licking his butthole because he liked it, and I didn’t mind doing it! Is that weird? That is what demons do,” said Manning.
Manning went on to describe a confrontation that she had with the man’s wife, who called Manning a “lunatic” in an argument the pair had. “‘You get out of my life or I’ll get an RO [restraining order] on you,’” Manning said the wife told her.
Following the incident, Manning took to Instagram on Tuesday. She acknowledged the moment, saying that she’s reflected on the situation and handled it poorly.
“Over the past few days, I’ve had some time to reflect on the situation I’ve been dealing with,” Manning’s statement reads. “I was deeply hurt and handled things on a public platform when I should’ve dealt with them quietly with the support of my close friends and family.”
Manning said that she felt guilt after exposing everything, and originally thought to lie about the situation, but decided against it.
“I started a relationship with somebody who was married and told me he would leave his wife. In the end, I found out that wasn’t possible. I pride myself on being an ethical and kind person. I know what I did was wrong, but the heart makes you do crazy things sometimes,” said Manning in her statement.
In the end, Manning said that she would like privacy in order to “heal and mend my heart.”
