Loosely based on The Wave, Todd Strasser’s 1981 novel, We Are the Wave (or Wir Sind die Welle) on Netflix is a German teen drama series. When a new student, Tristan, joins their school, a group of bullied and marginalized classmates gets inspired to speak up against harassment. Thus begins a rebellion against injustice that quickly turns into a dangerous revolt against the growing nationalist movement.
