Amy Gumenick Will Wield Cupid’s Bow on Arrow

Cupid is planning a trip to Starling City! EW today reports that Amy Gumenick (“Turn,” “Supernatural”) has been cast as the DC Comics character Carrie Cutter for an upcoming episode of The CW’s “Arrow.” In the comics, Cutter was a special ops soldier who underwent an experimental procedure. Losing her grip on sanity, she became the Green Arrow-obsessed villainess, Cupid.

“I always loved the idea of Green Arrow having a crazed fan,” says “Arrow” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, who also created the Cupid character in the comics in 2009. “When I was writing the comic book, my big goal was to create a villain who would last. Cupid has since appeared in the DC Nation shorts on Cartoon Network, and to have her fight our TV Arrow is so much more than I ever could have hoped for the character.”

“Arrow” airs Wednesdays at 8 P.M. ET/PT on The CW with the new season set to premiere on October 8th.
