“Set in the year 2036, 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures,” reads the synopsis. “In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.”

Based on Capcom’s popular video game franchise, the live-action Resident Evil series hails from Supernatural executive producer Andrew Dabb, who is serving as a writer, executive producer, and showrunner. It will reportedly be set between two timelines featuring the same protagonist. It stars John Wick star Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker, the villainous head of Umbrella Corporation. The character was previously portrayed by Jason O’Mara and Shawn Roberts in the Milla Jovovich-led live-action films, and by Tom Hopper in the recent reboot Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.
