With X-Men ’97 officially in development at Disney+, one of the original X-Men animated series’ most iconic stars has shared a photo of his work behind the scenes.
Voice actor Cal Dodd, who perhaps is best known for his role as Wolverine in X-Men: The Animated Series as well as the Marvel vs. Capcom video game series, sent a picture out on Twitter earlier this week, revealing that he was currently in the studio and that it was “so great to be back” as Wolverine. The photo doesn’t show too much, but Dodd is seen holding up three fingers in a reference to Wolverine’s claws and is also sporting a varsity-style jacket with the name “Logan” printed on the front of it.

Dodd wasn’t the only actor to tease their return to the series, as Lenore Zann — the actress who portrayed Rogue in the original animated series — sent a tweet out in December in which she took part in an interview that highlighted her return.

Dodd and Zann won’t be the only two actors returning to X-Men ’97, as the voice actors behind Beast, Storm, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, Gambit, and Mister Sinister will all be returning to the Disney+ series. Not too much is known about the upcoming series as of yet, but it will be some time before fans see footage of it, as X-Men ’97 isn’t set to debut until sometime next year.
