The Witcher Season 3 Officially Announced

Despite not having yet premiered the second season, Netflix has already announced that a third season of The Witcher would be coming during its Tudum event on Saturday.

During a presentation for the entire The Witcher franchise on Netflix, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich — the showrunner for The Witcher Seasons 1 and 2, as well as a producer on The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf — confirmed that a ton of new The Witcher content would be coming, but ended it by saying that a third season would be on the way.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

The series stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Princess Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, and Joey Batey as Jaskier.

Season 2 will introduce a handful of new characters portrayed by Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones), Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve), Paul Bullion (Peaky Blinders), Yasen Atour (Young Wallender), Agnes Bjorn, Basil Eidenbenz (Fast and Furious 9), Aisha Fabienne Ross (The Danish Girl), Mecia Simson (Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model) and more.

The Witcher series is based on the stories and novels by Andrzej Sapkowski. Creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich serves as executive producer and showrunner for The Witcher. Sean Daniel executive produces under his Sean Daniel Company with his partner Jason Brown. Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko of Platige Image also executive produce.
