As the world continues to deal with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, actor Sean Penn is taking no risks when it comes to how he’ll be working going forward.

According to a recent report from Deadline, Penn is reportedly drawing a line in the sand, and refusing to return to work on his Starz limited series Gaslit until everyone involved in the production has been fully vaccinated for COVID-19. The news comes as the Delta variant of the virus has begun raging through the United States, with Los Angeles having to re-impose many of their pandemic requirements to try and put a stop to the rising cases.

With that in mind, Penn has seemingly made it his mandate to make sure everyone coming in to work on the production is vaccinated. The report notes that Penn has offered to help facilitate the vaccination effort free of charge through his organization, CORE, but it’s unclear just how receptive everyone involved in the series will be to this.

Based on Slate’s award-winning podcast Slow Burn, the first season was developed by Robbie Pickering (Mr. Robot) as a modern take on Watergate that focused on Martha Mitchell (Julia Roberts), Arkansan socialite and wife to Nixon’s loyal Attorney General John Mitchell (Penn), described as a big personality with an even bigger mouth as she becomes the first person to publicly sound the alarm on Nixon’s involvement in the scandal, causing both her life and his presidency to crumble.

The drama also explores the other untold stories and forgotten characters of the notorious chapter in American history, including Nixon’s bumbling, opportunistic subordinates, deranged zealots aiding and abetting their crimes, and the tragic whistleblowers who would bring the whole rotten enterprise crashing down.
