Jonathan Nolan & Lisa Joy’s The Peripheral adds Jack Reynor
According to Deadline, Cherry actor Jack Reynor has joined the cast of Amazon’s upcoming series The Peripheral in which he will co-star alongside Chloë Grace Moretz.
The sci-fi thriller from Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy is based on the bestselling novel by William Gibson which centers around a woman named Flynne (Moretz) and her brother Burton (Reynor). In the story, Burton, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps’ elite Haptic Recon force, takes a job working security in a video game/virtual world for a Colombian company called Milagros Coldiron. When Burton is called away on an assignment, Flynne takes his position and witnesses a gruesome murder, though she is uncertain whether the event is real or part of some twisted virtual game.
Scott B. Smith will write the hour-long series and serve as an executive producer and showrunner, while Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy will also executive produce along with Steven Hoban and Kilter Films’ Athena Wickham. In the Tall Grass director Vincenzo Natali is set to helm the series and likewise serve as executive producer.
Reynor recently appeared in Joe and Anthony Russo’s Cherry alongside Tom Holland, but rose to fame in films such as Dollhouse (2012), Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) and the thriller Midsommar (2019).
