Crag Banyon P.I.: Shane Black Developing Animated Comedy Adaptation for Fox

Shane Black (Iron Man 3, The Predator, The Nice Guys) is developing a new animated comedy project at Fox titled Crag Banyon P.I., based on the book series by James Mullaney, according to Deadline.

Crag Banyon P.I. follows the supernatural adventures of Banyon, an alcoholic ex-cop and current private detective investigator as he solves cases in an alternate noir, otherworldly reality.

Black and author Mullaney are set to write and executive produce the series, with Stampede Ventures’ David Silverman (The Simpsons Movie), Greg Silverman, and Paul Shapiro also executive producing along with Greenlit’s David Greenblatt and Vinson Films’ Tripp Vinson.

The outlet notes that if the project receives a presentation order at Fox, David Silverman will direct Crag Banyon P.I. The project reportedly has a script commitment with Fox Entertainment serving as the studio.
