Paramount+ Greenlights iCarly Revival With Original Stars Returning
It’s been just eight years since the fan-favorite comedy iCarly came to an end on Nickelodeon and now audiences can look forward to the group returning as Paramount+ has ordered a revival with stars Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress and Jerry Trainor returning, according to TVLine.
“Who’s this Al Schouten guy,” Schouten jokingly asked in a tweet announcing the revival. “He sounds very cool, with nice hair and fun clothes. My guess is he’s INSANELY EXCITED TO BE DOING THIS!!”
The original series, created by Schneider and running on Nickelodeon for six seasons from 2007-12 and centered on the titular teenager as she creates the eponymous web series alongside her best friends Sam Puckett and Freddie Benson in the apartment loft she and her older brother Spencer live in, but as the show becomes an internet phenomenon, the group must balance their teenage lives with the craziness that comes from their newfound fame.
“Paramount is an iconic and storied brand beloved by consumers all over the world, and it is synonymous with quality, integrity and world-class storytelling,” president and CEO Bob Bakish previously said in a statement regarding the streaming service’s rebranding. “With Paramount+, we’re excited to establish one global streaming brand in the broad-pay segment that will draw on the sheer breadth and depth of the ViacomCBS portfolio to offer an extraordinary collection of content for everyone to enjoy.“
