Bill Paxton Joins Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for Four-Episode Arc

TV Guide has unveiled the first look at veteran actor Bill Paxton as Agent John Garrett in an upcoming episode of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Paxton will reportedly appear for at least four episodes of the series in the role.

“We wanted to bring in a rough-and-tumble former cohort of Agent Coulson with a little bit of attitude and cigar-smoking swagger,”  executive producer Jed Whedon said.

Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen added, “He is the type who wants to stay out in the field no matter how high-level he gets.”

Agent John Garrett made his comic book debut in Frank Miller and Bill Sienkiewicz’s “Electra: Assassin,” in which he was given some cybernetic upgrades after suffering injuries in the line of duty. Might we be seeing these robotic apendages in the show? We’ll have to wait and see…

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” airs Tuesdays at 8 P.M. on ABC.
