The Walking Dead spinoff teaser hints at a much larger world
We got our first hint at what the second spinoff series from The Walking Dead will have in store. The video features a trio of the show’s stars, who talk about leaving the safe world they grew up in to find out the truth about their world — which happens to be overrun with the dead. We also see some concept art, which features a crashed plane that, you guessed it, is lousy with zombies. You can check it out in the post below!
The untitled spinoff will serve as the third show of the television franchise, following The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. According to AMC, the series will feature two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse. Some will become heroes, some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.
The Walking Dead spinoff will have writer and producer Matt Negrete showrunning alongside chief content officer Scott M. Gimple. The series has been given a 10-episode order.
The first spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead, is currently airing its fifth season, with new episodes premiering every Sunday night on AMC. The Walking Dead is scheduled to return for its 10th season this October.
The Walking Dead spinoff is expected to air in the Spring of 2020.
