Riverdale Season 4: First episode set as a tribute to Luke Perry

It has been three months since Hollywood was shaken by the unexpected death of actor Luke Perry, who died at age 52 from complications of a stroke in early March. Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took to Twitter to reveal that the upcoming fourth season premiere episode of the hit teen drama will be a special tribute to the late actor, who portrayed the role of Archie Andrews’ father, Fred Andrews, since the show’s first season. To be directed by Gabriel Correa, episode 4.01 titled  “In Memoriam” is scheduled to air on October 9.

Last season, Archie and the gang continued to dive into the secrets that both loom and keep emerging from the shadows in a town that once seemed like a quiet, ordinary place. The circumstances surrounding Archie’s arrest kick off the drama of season three as the gang tried to #FreeArchie and Hiram Lodge continued to flesh out his plans to control not only Riverdale but the ever-growing SoDale.
