Lucifer Showrunner Reacts To Fan Petition For Sixth Season

Lucifer showrunner reacts to fan petition for sixth season

Fans received bittersweet news earlier this month when Netflix announced that the revived DC Comics series adaptation Lucifer would return for a fifth and final season to the streaming service, but many are seeing the bad side of the news and have begun a petition to keep the show going for a sixth season at Netflix.

The petition hit Change.org a week ago and has already amassed almost 48,000 of it 50k goal and has made its way to the attention of current showrunner Ildy Modrovich, who took to Twitter (via Cinema Blend) to reveal her feelings on the fans’ work towards keeping the series going.

Based very loosely on the Vertigo character, Lucifer is the story of the original fallen angel. Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar abandoned his throne. He then retired to Los Angeles, where he has teamed up with LAPD detective Chloe Decker to take down criminals. The show was abruptly canceled by Fox after its third season but was saved by Netflix last June.

Warner Bros. Television produces Lucifer in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Aggressive Mediocrity. The series is vaguely based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo, from DC Entertainment. Additionally, Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson are the executive producers. Len Wiseman serves as director and executive producer, while Kapinos serves as an executive consultant on the series.
