The Gifted Cancelled After Two Seasons

Deadline reports that FOX has cancelled their X-Men TV series The Gifted after two seasons.The trade says that though no conversations about the series moving to a different home have taken place, it could be a possibility. Though following the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company, and the return of the feature film rights to the X-Men characters to Marvel Studios, it remains to be seen how any of these character will be used in the future.

Stephen Moyer starred in the series as Reed Strucker, appearing alongside Amy Acker as Caitlin Strucker, Sean Teale as Marcos Diaz / Eclipse, Natalie Alyn Lind as Lauren Strucker, Percy Hynes White as Andy Strucker, Coby Bell as Jace Turner, Jamie Chung as Clarice Fong / Blink, Blair Redford as John Proudstar / Thunderbird, Emma Dumont as Lorna Dane / Polaris, and Skyler Samuels as the Stepford Cuckoos.

The Gifted was produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Marvel Television. Matt Nix (Burn Notice), Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men: ApocalypseX-Men: Days of Future Past), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: ApocalypseX-Men: Days of Future Past) and Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory all served as executive producers.
