Fall 2 Directors Set for Second Installment in Survival Thriller Franchise

The Fall 2 directors have been found, with Capstone Studios announcing on Thursday that it has tapped Michael and Peter Spierig to direct the second installment in the action franchise.

The Spierig Brothers (Jigsaw) will helm the upcoming sequel, which will be co-written by Scott Mann — who wrote and directed the first film — and Jonathan Frank. A third movie was also confirmed to be in the works months ago, and Capstone Studios confirmed that Mann would return to the series to write and direct that as well.

“We’re extremely excited to helm the second instalment of this franchise and bring to life another nail biting, vertigo inducing thrill ride,” said the Spierig Brothers in a statement.

What do we know about Fall 2 and 3?

Not a whole lot is known about either sequels to Fall as of yet. However, Capstone notes that the projects will be bringing back original characters from the first film while also introducing new ones. The original Fall starred Grace Caroline Currey, Virginia Gardner, Mason Gooding, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

After launching to moderate success in the box office, Fall became a surprise hit overseas. According to reports, Fall has been the second most-watched film in the United Kingdom on Netflix, trailing only Idris Elba’s Luther: The Fallen Sun.

The success of the film also comes without any real marketing push behind it, with Tea Shop Productions’ co-founder James Harris crediting its success to word of mouth.
