Fear the Walking Dead Gets Another Former Walking Dead Cast Member

It looks like Lennie James’ Morgan Jones won’t be the only Walking Dead cast member to make a new home in the show’s companion series, Fear the Walking Dead. According to Entertainment Weekly, Austin Amelio, who plays former Savior Dwight on The Walking Dead, will also jump ship and become a regular on Fear the Walking Dead.

Ian Goldberg, on of Fear’s showrunners, previously explained to EW that the factory they found in the most recent season finale will serve as a home base, and hints at how Dwight could be brought into the fold. “What we see at the end of the season here is that their mission is to go out into the world and help people. They will be using Al’s tapes as a guide to find those people.” It seems likely that Dwight, who wasn’t seen in the first half of The Walking Dead’s most recent ninth season, will be brought into a new narrative altogether.

The survivors in Fear the Walking Dead will explore who they are now — as individuals and as part of the greater group — and how they will forge ahead. They will find themselves pitted against new adversaries — human, walker, and even nature itself. Theirs will be a journey wrought with danger, love, heartbreak, loss, and ultimately, hope.

Fear the Walking Dead is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg, as well as Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Gale Ann Hurd and Greg Nicotero, and produced by AMC Studios. The series stars Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Garrett Dillahunt, Maggie Grace, and Jenna Elfman.
