Starz

Hightown, Series Premiere: The series is set on iconic Cape Cod and follows one woman’s journey to sobriety, intertwined with an unfolding murder investigation. Jackie Quiñones (Monica Raymund), a hard-partying National Marine Fisheries Service agent, has her free-wheeling life thrown into disarray when she discovers a body on the beach – another casualty of Cape Cod’s opioid epidemic. As a result of this trauma, Jackie takes the first steps toward becoming sober— until she becomes convinced that it’s up to her to solve the murder. Now at odds with Sergeant Ray Abruzzo (James Badge Dale), an abrasive but effective member of the Cape Cod Interagency Narcotics Unit, Jackie starts to spiral. And she’s not alone. Ray, too, spins out of control; losing himself in the investigation. The lives of everyone connected to this murder crash and converge, reminding us just how complicated – and deadly – our addictions can be. Hightown will premiere on Sunday, May 17, and will be available to stream on Starz’s platforms.

TNT

Snowpiercer, Series Premiere: Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation based on the graphic novel series and film from Oscar winner Bong Joon Ho (Parasite). The series stars Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind), Grammy and Tony Award-winner Daveed Diggs (HamiltonBlack-ish), and Emmy nominee Alison Wright (The Americans). Snowpiercer will premiere on TNT on Sunday, May 17, and will later be available on TNT’s site to stream.

Netflix

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Season 5 Premiere: In the fifth and final season of Netflix’s hit animated series, the ruthless Horde Prime has arrived and without the Sword of Protection and She-Ra, the Rebellion is facing their toughest challenge yet. In this epic conclusion, unexpected adversaries are confronted and relationships are tested, broken, and changed forever.  Will Adora and the Princesses of Power be able to save their planet? Or will the universe succumb to the evil might of Horde Prime before love can conquer hate? The new season will begin streaming on Friday, May 15.

Hulu

The Great, Series Premiere: Starring Elle Fanning as Catherine the Great and Nicholas Hoult as Russian emperor Peter, the series is a satirical, comedic drama about the rise of Catherine the Great through the 18th Century Russia from outsider to the longest-reigning female ruler in Russia’s history. Season One is a fictionalized, fun, and anachronistic story of an idealistic, romantic young girl, who arrives in Russia for an arranged marriage to the mercurial Emperor Peter. Hoping for love and sunshine, she finds instead a dangerous, depraved, backward world that she resolves to change. All she has to do is kill her husband, beat the church, baffle the military, and get the court onside. A very modern story about the past which encompasses the many roles she played over her lifetime as a lover, teacher, ruler, friend, and fighter. All 10 episodes of the series will launch on Friday, May 15.

BritBox

A Confession, Series Premiere: After a night out with friends, 22-year-old Sian O’Callaghan disappeared. When her worried boyfriend reports her missing, Detective Superintendent Steve Fulcher (Golden Globe nominee Martin Freeman) begins to piece together her last movements. Believing Sian may still be alive and being held somewhere against her will, Fulcher initiates an urgent full-scale search operation which leaves him at the crux of a life-changing choice between following police protocol and catching a killer. The first two episodes are streaming now on BritBox.
