gen:LOCK Season 1 Episode 6 Recap
In the previous episode of Rooster Teeth’s gen:LOCK, the team fought the Union Holon again, but it acted like Chase. In gen:LOCK season 1 episode 6, Chase confronted Weller, but the Union attacked the Anvil.
“Which Is My Chase?”
Though the mission went well, it didn’t seem like a victory. Leon asked the team to report for a debrief and chided them for expecting a party.
Chase tried to break the ice with Miranda after the mission. Since the Union Holon sounded like Julian, she questioned which was the one she knew. Afterwards, he asked Dr. Weller, who admitted that he lied.
Since Chase was the first to be identified as gen:LOCk compatible, he was considered the most important person in the Polity. After they rescued him and started the program, they copied Julian’s brain and continuously updated it. Eventually, the Union prioritized capturing Chase and his Holon. They succeeded, but Dr. Weller still had the copy. They restored him from the copy and lied to him about the mission. The Union Holon was Chase’s Nemesis.
“Kill the Copy”
Union soldiers led by Nemesis and a Behemoth attacked the Anvil. Nemesis was there to kill the copy of Chase and take back his body. The Union had promised that he would be returned to it. Team gen:LOCK suited up and fought the Union forces. Valentina and Kazu mindshared for a dance-like sword fight, but Chase refused Yaz’s mindshare.
Unfortunately, the Union had breached the Anvil. Dr. Weller ordered the team back to download because their bodies were in danger. Col. Marin approved a transport for them to escape.
The team minus Chase prepared to run while Dr. Weller instructed Caliban to take care of them. As the team got away, the Union soldiers surrounded Weller. He detonated a grenade and sacrificed himself.
They entered the North Common where Leon had actually prepared a party for them. The team fought Union soldiers on their way out. Migas drove them to the transport, and Yaz piloted the jet.
Col. Marin ordered the Hammer system to target the Behemoth. When it went down, Nanotech flooded the Anvil. Chase couldn’t get a response from anyone in Anvil Ops. He caught up with the jet in his Holon, and they were out of there.
