Marcus struggled to rationalize his murder of Rory, but he quickly chalked morality up as a useless concept similar to art. He went to the main courtyard where the other new kids were discussing the commercialization of alternative rock music. The conversation quickly ended and they went to poisoning class. There they learned about how both the American and Soviet governments were stockpiling chemical weapons to unleash upon each other’s civilian populations. During study hall, Marcus and Jurgen, the poisoning teacher, found common ground with their shared hatred of Ronald Reagan and his policies. In Black Arts class, Master Lin was disappointed that only Willie was able to kill someone. He trapped the other students in a chamber with poison gas and gave them a riddle to solve in order to escape.
Marcus managed to solve the riddle and escaped along with all of the other students. At lunch, Marcus helped Sheb, an unpopular kid running for class president, get out of a trash can he had been stuffed in. Unintentionally, Sheb befriended Marcus and invited Marcus to a party at his house that upcoming weekend, Marcus agreed to go to the party. That night, Chico took his girlfriend to dinner, but she was disappointed that she didn’t get to decide what they did on their dates. At the party, Marcus was doing his best to avoid everybody, but Willie approached and the pair discussed the artistic merit of The Smiths. Saya pulled Marcus into the bathroom and she began to kiss him, but Marcus heard Willie bragging about his kill again. Marcus got angry, and confronted Willie about his dishonest recounting of the murder of Rory.
After a long discussion about Willie’s backstory, Marcus apologized for his actions and felt great sympathy for Willie. They promised not to antagonize each other further. After much encouragement from Marcus, Billy finally asked out Petra, she immediately snuck off to have sex with Victor. Under the leadership of Dwight, the local weed dealer, Marcus learned all about the wonders of Judas Priest’s music. After a long and bizarre series of events culminating in two guys fighting with dildos, the police arrived to shut down the party. Back with Chico, Maria was taken along as Chico carried out a hit for his father. Chico threatened to kill Maria if she didn’t marry him, so she agreed to do so. The next morning, Master Lin took Marcus to Rory’s funeral.
