Grace Millane was a British tourist who lost her life during her visit to New Zealand. Originally a resident of Wickford, Essex, she entered the oceanic country on 20 November 2018. Furthermore, her birthday was supposed to arrive in December 2018. Unfortunately, despite several attempts, her loved ones couldn’t contact her on the auspicious day because she neither responded to messages or calls.
According to Sky News, Grace Millane met a 26-year-old man named Jesse Shane Kempson through Tinder, who strangled her to death. Reports suggest that this incident took place in an Auckland hotel room. Furthermore, after murdering Millane, Kempson buried her body in the Waitakere Ranges.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brainstorm Media will release a documentary about this tragic case titled, The Lie: The Murder of Grace Millane. Directed by Helena Coan, it is scheduled to release in spring later this year.

According to The Sun, Jesse Shane Kempson is serving his life sentence at Auckland Prison. He tried to overturn his conviction several times, however, he never found success.
Filmmaker Helena Coan stated that she made the upcoming documentary with the blessing of Grace Millane’s family. She said, “I’ve been in that position and probably every woman in the history of the world has been in that position, on a new date with someone that you don’t really know.”
She further stated, “We’re excited to be there.” The CCTV footage shows a “young girl having fun in a new country. She was just a normal young woman who absolutely didn’t deserve what was about to happen to her.”
Grace Millane was born on December 2, 1996, and graduated from the University of Lincoln. Furthermore, she was only 21 years old at the time of her passing.
