Jared Fogle Sentence Length: Where Is the Subway Guy Now & What Is His Potential Release Date?

Jared Fogle, dubbed the Subway Guy, is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence in a federal facility. He previously pleaded guilty to multiple counts of child sex crimes and child pornography in 2015. In November of that year, a judge sentenced him for his crimes. The former Subway pitchman will serve at least 85% of his sentence before looking forward to a potential release. Federal records state that he will become eligible for “lifetime supervised release” by 2029.

Where is Jared Fogle now & when is his potential release?

According to the Federal Department of Corrections, Jared Fogle, who was once the face of Subway, is serving his 15-year term at the Englewood Federal Correctional Institution. The record also mentions his potential release date, i.e., March 24, 2029. The New York Post reported that Fogle spoke from prison for the first time since his sentencing. In a hand-written letter, he said, “I really royally screwed up to wind up where I am. I was selfish and entitled.”

In August 2015, Fogle pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge and paying for sex with an underage girl after traveling from Indiana to New York City. Prosecutors had claimed that he had at least 400 child-porn videos in his possession. Before that, in July 2015, state and federal authorities had searched his Indiana home, where they found incriminating evidence. Prosecutors also alleged that the former Subway pitchman solicited escorts to “provide him with access to minors as young as 14 to 15 years.”

The outlet claimed that Fogle has repeatedly attempted to get his sentence reduced. The 46-year-old also mentioned that he has to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before his release. Moreover, following his release, the father-of-two will have to register as a sex offender. He further wrote, “I very much look forward to re-starting my life and enjoying every moment with my family who have stood by and supported me. I’m so lucky to have them.”
