Heather Pressdee: Where Is the Nurse Charged With Killing Patients Now?

Heather Pressdee, a former Pennsylvania nurse accused of murdering two patients, is currently being held at the Butler County Prison, as per ABC7. She used toxic doses of insulin to carry out the killings and recently confessed to trying to kill over a dozen others at five different nursing homes.

Police reportedly arrested Pressdee of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, earlier this year. They charged her with two counts of first-degree murder. Moreover, the recent confession brought an additional 17 counts of attempted murder. Other charges include 19 counts of neglect of a care-dependent person.

Heather Pressdee update: Where is she now & what charges does she face?

As previously mentioned Heather Pressdee is being held on bail at the Butler County Prison in Pennsylvania. Police arrested her in May 2023 on charges stemming from the deaths of two men in December 2022. An alleged third victim barely survived after “emergency hospitalization” from a “potentially lethal dose of insulin he received” earlier that same year in August.

Fox News also reported that Pressdee, 41, admitted to attempting to kill nineteen other patients using lethal doses of insulin. In a press release, the Pennsylvania Attorney General said that the accused administered excessive amounts of insulin to these patients. Some of these people “were diabetic and required insulin,” while others were not. The statement further claimed that “In total, 17 patients died who had been cared for by Pressdee.”

Pressdee now faces two first-degree murder counts, 17 attempted murder counts, and 19 neglect-of-care-dependent counts. The 41-year-old reportedly waived her preliminary hearing on the above charges.

Pennsylvania’s Attorney General’s Office announced the additional charges on Thursday. “Today, the Office of Attorney General filed charges regarding mistreatment of 19 additional patients at five different care facilities between 2020 and this year,” said the press release per People Magazine.

The outlet reported that the former veterinary technician committed these alleged crimes at multiple facilities. These were Concordia at Rebecca Residence, Belair Healthcare and Rehabilitation (Guardian), Quality Life Services Chicora, Premier Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, and Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
