Jeff Satur and Engfa Waraha’s The Paradise of Thorns To Make Cannes 2024 Debut

Jeff Satur and Engfa Waraha are all set to star in the new Thai film The Paradise of Thorns (working title – The Marriage). The thriller project will debut at the prestigious 77th Cannes Film Festival 2024.

The Paradise of Thorns is directed by Boss Kuno and produced by Vanridee Pongsittisak. Aside from that, the film’s duration is 120 minutes. Jeff is a popular Thai singer who has also showcased his impressive acting skills in several projects. He is best known for starring in 2022 Thai drama, KinnPorsche The Series La Forte.

Moreover, this year, Jeff is gearing up for his highly-anticipated BL drama, Wuju Bakery, alongside his KinnPorsche co-star, Barcode Tinnasit Isarapongporn. On the other hand, Engfa is also a popular singer. She recently stepped into the acting world and is currently wowing viewers in the ongoing Thai drama Bangkok Blossom.

Furthermore, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, GDH 559 announced that they are launching four projects at Cannes 2024. Aside from The Paradise of Thorns, the other projects are 404, Flat Girls, and Shutter (remastered in 4K). Furthermore, the new coming-of-age GL (Girl Love) film Flat Girls is set to hit theatres in 2025.

The synopsis of The Paradise of Thorns in The Film Catalogue reads: “‘Thongkam’ and ‘Sek’, a devoted gay couple, have worked tirelessly to build a life together, including owning a house and a durian orchard in Mae Hong Son.”

Moreover, it further says, “Tragedy strikes when Sek dies suddenly in an accident, revealing that they were never legally married in Thailand, leaving Thongkam with no rights to their assets. The house and orchard now belong to Sek’s mother, who moves in with her adopted daughter ‘Mo’ and gardener ‘Jingna’. Thongkam must now fight to reclaim the fruits of his love and labor.”
