Andrew Schulz, the popular comedian and actor who famously hosted Donald Trump on his podcast, has said that the “most far-left critiques” of the Trump administration have been justified following the killing of Alex Pretti.
Schulz appeared alongside Charlamagne tha God for the pair’s latest episode of their Brilliant Idiots podcast, and during the show they discussed the killing of Alex Pretti and ICE’s operations in Minneapolis following the deaths of Pretti and Renee Good.
Schulz had previously publicly supported Trump, hosting the then-presidential candidate during the 2024 election cycle on his popular Flagrant podcast. However, during his latest podcast, Schulz said that Pretti’s death was a “breaking point” for him in terms of his support of the Trump administration.
Andrew Schulz says ‘far-left critiques’ have now been justified
Schulz said that concerns around the Trump administration are no longer “liberal catastrophic thinking,” and are now instead “very reasonable, nuanced criticism of the administration.”
Schulz criticized how the Trump administration had handled news of Pretti’s death, after Pretti was branded a “domestic terroristic” in the immediate aftermath of his death.

“They have just made the most far-left critiques of the Trump administration, [after] their reaction to this, they have just justified all of them,” Schulz said. “In one moment, all of their responses, from Trump to Kash Patel, they have justified every single [critique.]”
When questioned by Charlamagne over whether when he supported Trump, he believed the President wouldn’t do the things he said he would do, or that he believed the “guardrails of America” would prevent him from doing so, Schulz conceded that he believed those guardrails would have prevented Trump’s plans for handling immigration.
Schulz added that he supported Conservatives who had stated their disapproval of the Trump administration, and believed them to be separate from the “Trump cultists” who continued to pledge support despite the administration’s actions.
